Kype Muir Wind Farm Community Fund
When we finished construction on the Kype Muir Wind Farm and established the Kype Muir Wind Farm Community Fund, there was a need to ensure this fund fulfilled its potential and delivered real, tangible positive impacts on the issues that matter most to the local community.
In coming together to form the Kype Muir Community Panel (KMCP), those local communities have stepped in to provide a community-led solution to fill this need.
Representing a range of communities within 10km of Kype Muir, the panel agrees how the Kype Muir Community Fund supports a wide range of community needs, from community buildings and local art installations to helping to drive local grassroots projects to deliver social, economic and/or environmental benefits to South Lanarkshire communities within a 10 km radius of the wind farm. Priority is given to support projects in the Community Council areas of Lesmahagow, Sandford and Upper Avondale, Stonehouse, Strathaven & Glassford and Blackwood, Kirkmuirhill and Boghead.
The KMCP is eager to support eligible projects of all sizes, and is keen to hear suggestions from local people who have a project or cause that could be supported by the fund. If you would like your project to be supported by the KMCP, we’ll work with you to help explore your next steps.
