About Banks Mining
A track record for success
We are proud of our coal mining roots. We’ve worked over a hundred sites that are restored and landscaped to create a range of uses including country parks, sports pitches, visitor facilities, and regenerated land to build new communities for future generations.
Our experience ranges from mining and restoring our own and others’ surface mines or spoil tip reclamation schemes, remediation of former landfill sites, working in environmentally sensitive locations such as peat bogs and restoring them carefully to maintain their precious carbon balance, creating award-winning restoration schemes including wetland areas, bio-diverse ecology areas, agricultural land and resolving soil and contamination issues.
Our wealth of experience across this variety of projects places us in a prime position to take on large and complex developments.
Supporting the need for minerals
Modern society relies upon infrastructure every day – to live, work, play, travel and communicate.
At Banks Mining, we believe mineral products are essential to strengthening the UK economy, our quality of life and the transition to net zero.
The UK needs a wide range of industrial minerals to manufacture steel, cement, bricks and plaster so that it can supply other industries, supporting the delivery of essential new infrastructure projects including road upgrades, sustainable energy generation and new housing.
Building on our significant knowledge and experience in the heavily regulated surface mining sector, we believe that modernising UK infrastructure should provide positive long-term benefits for our business partners, communities, the environment and our people.
